Can I take a take an ONLINE DUI or Defensive Driving Class in Georgia?

Good Question. Virtual class YES! Virtual attendance is not considered ONLINE. 

In Georgia, ​Certificates of Completion from online DUI, Alcohol, or Drug Use Risk Reduction courses cannot be accepted by the DDS for any purposes related to an individual’s driver’s license or driving privileges.  https://dds.georgia.gov/dui-faqs. The Same is true for online defensive driving classes. 

However, you can attend a live class virtually at some state approved schools. 
Students must participate in and attend the entire live class using a working web camera and microphone. This form of attendance is not considered "online", and virtual students are considered present using a web camera and receive the exact same certificate that our brick and mortar students receive.  

**We do our best to make sure the technology and resources are up to date to best accommodate our students.  If a student has a device, cell, or wifi problem that prevents them from successfully completing class they will be allowed to re-start the class when it is next offered for no additional charge.
